Never say No to a Roadtrip

Posted on

I think I could live on the road. There’s nothing that fills me more than roadtrip photos. Doesn’t matter the place, as long as it’s with great people and a good vibe, it’s always an amazing experience.

In the last month I’ve had the opportunity to have a couple with friends, both around south Chile, and they gave me the energy I needed to keep making new plans.

The first one was with Matias, the friend I live with. It was a thursday night and he reads a text from a surfer friend, and says to me ‘it seems like Huape -a little town near Valdivia, about 3 hours from our place – will have good swell tomorrow’. Within two hours we had finished everything we were doing, packed our things and hit the road.

Turned out that the surfing wasn’t as amazing as they expected, but that one-day trip including a ferry ride made us so happy and ready for another week of work.

A week later, a friend and her family were visiting Pucon, the town we live in, during the national holidays, and they invited me on a trip to Puerto Fuy. This port-town is located next to Lake Pirehueico, where you can also take a ferry and go to Puerto Pirehueico and then drive 11 kilometers to Argentina. It’s one of the many ways we have in Chile to cross to our neighbor country.

We didn’t cross the border, but we did ride the ferry to and from Puerto Pirehueico just for the fun of it. Amazing landscapes surround the lake, with mountains and waterfalls everywhere.

I’ve been lucky enough to be in quite a few roadtrips in my life, and one thing I learned is to never say no to one.
